CASH FOR TRASH Wednesday 11/7/12

I love to hunt for treasures and resell them on the Internet. I have been busy listing and selling some of the vintage cook books from a recent auction.
Another favorite of mine is vintage postcards and photos. Several of the postcards were from over seas and are now going back over seas to Ireland.

Here are a couple of postcards I have for sale right now on the etsy. The one below is of Picadilly Circle and the lower one is humorous with both male and female quite busy drinking from a bottle of liquor.

I recently sent several postcards to Ireland after selling them on etsy. They went to a film company. Maybe they will be come props in a film.

I recently sold the above cook book on eBay for $9.99.

eBay was good for sales last month with sales also from etsy and Amazon. I enjoy hunting for items, having the chance to sell them and of course the addition of some extra cash in the pocket book helps for sure.
Thanks for stopping by for cash for trash. If you are busy selling on the Internet I would love to hear from you and what you like to look for.  Grace

MENU PLAN MONDAY 11/5/12

Time to plan my menu for this week. We have a busy week happening. Monday is auction night, Tuesday is voting and taking friends to vote who do not have a car.  Thursday is auction night if there is anything of interest.  Saturday we are having a fall fest at church and I will be helping sell bake goods and Sunday ushering at church. On top of all this I want to go to a book sale on Monday and try to arrange to have a table at next Mondays auction for selling some glassware I bought last weekend. Add to all this hunting for new items to sell on the Internet, antique store or where ever.

This weeks menu will be simple, easy and using items I have in the house. One night will be trying a new recipe and I have not chosen anything at this time.

Monday soup and sandwiches with chips
Tuesday Cheesy Lasagna soup see Sundays posting for recipe
Wednesday Left overs from going out Sunday for lunch. Olive Gardens pasta deal of one today and another for home. We both chose cheesy spaghetti with meat sauce for home.
Thursday meatballs in gravy with potatoes and peas
Friday left over Lasagna soup
Saturday will make a new recipe that night hopefully
Sunday easy dinner of maybe hotdogs, beans and chips

Hope that your menu plans are simple and tasty. Thanks for stopping by for menu plan Monday. Grace

YUMMY RECIPE ~ APPLE COFFEE CAKE

Recently I was given a couple bags of apples from a neighbors apple tree. I shared one bag and the other is sitting on my kitchen counter.
I decided to make a coffee cake recipe out of  the Best of Betty Crocker 2010 cook book
Apple Coffee Cake prep time 15 minutes, start to finish 1 hour and serves 8

Streusel topping
2/3 cup of Original Bisquick mix
2/3 cup of brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp nutmeg
1/4 cup of butter

Coffee cake
2 cups of Bisquick
2/3 cup of milk
3 TBLS of sugar
1 egg
2 medium cooking apples peeled and thinly sliced (2 cups)

Glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar
2 to 3 tsps of milk

Heat oven to 400. Spray 9 inch square pan with cooking spray. In small bowl mix 2/3 cup of bisquick, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cut in butter using pastry blender or pulling two knives through ingredients in opposite directions, until crumbly. Set aside
Stir 2 cups of bisquick mix, 2/3 cup of milk, sugar, and egg. Beat vigorously 30 seconds. Spread half of batter in pan. Arrange apples slices on batter, sprinkle with half of streusel topping. Spread remaining batter and sprinkle. Sprinkle nuts if desired.
Bake about 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool 20 minutes. Stir glaze ingrediants until smooth enough to drizzle.Drizzle glaze over warm coffee cake

Enjoy with coffee or a cold glass of milk

This was really good and hubby and I enjoyed it for several days.
