ORGANIZING AN ENTERTAINMENT AREA ~ UNREAD BOOKS

ORGANIZING AN ENTERTAINMENT AREA ~ CAST ASIDE UNREAD BOOKS

Are you like me, a lover of books.  I am forever picking up books as I visit used book stores, library sales or garage sales.  Pretty soon I have at least 30 to 40 books just waiting to be read.  On top of that some one is always giving me a book to borrow.  They think I will love it and now I want to read that one so I can return before I forget to give it back.
Only keep the book you want to read on or near your night stand.  If you gather more books than you can possibly read how about donating some to your thrift store or library sale.

Thanks for stopping by for tip for the day.

TIDY TIP OF THE DAY ~ YOUR NIGHT STAND

TIDY TIP OF THE DAY ~ YOUR NIGHT STAND

Your night stand should only be used for items you need in bed.  Your books, your reading glasses, cell phone and memo pad.
Now of course this should not all be on top of your night stand. A drawer makes things neater or if your night stand does not have a drawer you can always use a pretty wicker basket underneath.

WHAT'S FOR DINNER ~ HOME MADE CHICKEN SOUP ~ ON A COLD NIGHT

It is snowing and cold out.  What would be better than some home made soup.
We took some chicken out of the freezer the night before to thaw.
Next day we baked, cooled and deboned.
Next boiled up the bones for some broth.
To that more canned broth is added along with the diced up chicken.
Add 1 tsp of pepper, 1/2 tsp of salt and 1 tsp of garlic
Add to all of this 1 can of diced tomatoes with spices
a handful or two of frozen mixed vegetables
and pasta already cooked and drained.

Simmer for about 30 to 45 minutes and homemade soup is made.
Forget the canned chicken noodle soup and taste what soup really taste likes.
Thanks for stopping by for dinner.. Grace

TIDY TIP OF THE DAY ~ SLIDE IT UNDER YOUR BED

TIDY TIP OF THE DAY ~ SLIDE IT UNDER YOUR BED

Your under bed storage does not have to be for bedroom items only. You can organize anything that needs a place under your bed.  How about office supplies, sports items.  We store a folding table under our bed.  Out of sight is great and if we need it for a family doings just pull it out and we are ready to go.
45 years ago we went to a Sunday lunch at the apartment of a lady from church. She pulled out a tray of cut up carrots and celery from under her bed.  You should of seen the look on my mother's face.  I do not suggest keeping vegies under your bed for your next party.  After all these years I still have to chuckle and share that story.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks to Mrs.S for the memories and the chuckles after all these years.
